Parking & Shuttle Logistics

This is a two-lot shuttle setup. A designated driver drops their vehicle at the Stockton exit lot first, then meets the group at the Frenchtown put-in. After the float, drivers get shuttled back upstream to retrieve their cars.

Optional: Drop Towels & Dry Clothes at Exit Lot (7:15 AM)

If you want your towel and dry clothes waiting for you at the take-out, meet at the exit lot in Stockton by 7:15 AM to drop them in the shuttle-back vehicle. Then continue to the Frenchtown put-in to meet the rest of the group at 7:30 AM.

  • Main Entrance / Put-in Lot (meet here at 7:30 AM): Kingwood Access Boat Launch, Delaware and Raritan Canal State Park Trail, Frenchtown, NJ 08825
  • Overflow Entrance Lot (if main lot fills): 3037 Daniel Bray Hwy, Frenchtown, NJ 08825
  • Exit / Take-out Lot (designated driver parks here): D&R State Park Trail Parking Lot, 43 Delaware and Raritan Canal State Park Trail, Stockton, NJ 08559

⚠️ Be early! The main entrance lot fills up quickly on summer Saturdays β€” use the overflow lot if it’s full.

What to Bring

  • Your own tube (no rentals - bring it from home). Recommended: the Intex River Run 1 on Amazon for about $25 β€” sturdy, has a backrest, cup holders, and mesh bottom
  • Packed lunch and snacks (no food available on the river)
  • Water / hydration
  • Sunscreen
  • Water shoes
  • Dry bag for phones and keys
  • Towel and change of clothes for after the float

After the Float

We gather at Erwin-Stover House in Tinicum Park (Erwinna, PA) for lunch and downtime. Pack a real lunch - everyone will be hungry. The kids usually play games and hang out for a bit after eating, so plan on this being a full-day commitment.
